South African Blog Awards

Thanx to my absolutely awesome (career) coach, Chris Mugno and his connections, I managed to score myself four invites to the South African Blog Awards. The ceremony was held on Saturday, the 10th of December at Crystal Towers Hotel, Canal Walk, beautiful venue!

I was surprised by the intimacy of it all but I’m sure that it’ll grow as the blogging trend does the same. There are many blogs I would have loved to see nominated and I think there is also room for growth with regards to the categories. Unfortunately, my favourite blog, Superficial Girl didn’t scoop the award in it’s category for best fashion blog, sadly losing to Kim Gray who won the same award last year.
I’m not sure what the criteria is for this category, but if you have checked out good international fashion blogs such as, “Karla’s Closet”, “Atlantic Pacific’, “Chictopia”, “Brooklyn Blonde” or “Late Afternoon” you would agree that maybe Superficial Girl should have taken it this time ('cause it's on par)? Just maybe?
Props to Kim Gray though, her blog is amazing blog and can keep you lost in it hours on end!

Entertainment was in the form of comedian, Mamello, Mum-Z Mokoena (I laughed till I cried) and cocktails were courtesy of FineBrandies. A wonderful night it was...

Holiday Fun & Sun Loving

This is my favourite time of the year, the holiday season, being away from the rush and the city life, enjoying days and nights at the beach, the sundowners, sipping cocktails while watching the sun set on the coastline. It’s an  awesome time and you wish that the days were longer. I want to share pics of some of my holidays, these pics are from when I visited our beautiful neghbouring country Mozambique.I love it there, what has drawn me to the place is the stunning beaches and the warmth of the people. Mozambicans love to party during the night till the morning when the sun is out and it's blazing hot. They spend most of their day at the beach they are truly Brazilian insipred people. So cheers to an awesome holiday!!

Too Blessed to be Stressed

So I moved to Cape Town just over a month ago. Spent my first month here at De Zalze Golf Estate, a beautiful place on the R44 in Stellenbosch, then moved to Cape Town northern suburbs on the first of December. I hadn't even been at my new place for a week when my apartment got broken into while I was at work. Two of my most priced possessions were stolen, my laptop and camera (which took me 3 months to save up for), so you can imagine how hacked I was. That violation of privacy, I can't even begin to explain! This all happened in a supposedly safe and secure neighbourhood! Anyway, the police came soon as I called, and they, along with the body corporate are working to get to the bottom of this.

On a lighter note, we're just breathes away from the new year, and I'm looking forward to going home and seeing the fam!

Enjoy the post!
Much Love

Wedding Bliss

I just want to take you back to a very special day on the calender this year, the 3rd of September 2011. It was a beautiful and glorious saturday; the sun was out, it was the beginning of spring the flowers were blooming, the birds were singing, there was love in the air. That day was Caitlin Joy Martin's wedding our very good friend, that is the day she said her vows to the love of her life and sweetheart Bradley De Jager. That same day was Zee's birthday and she spent it in Hermanus, beautiful town situated between the mountain and sea, the beach and Lagoon stunning holiday destination. On that day I had a family wedding and it was my birthday party and the very next day my birthday.
The focus is on Mrs De Jager's wedding, I love her vintage style and exquisite taste, it was a beautiful wedding and thank you for sharing your special day with us.

Lots of love Nanz xoxo

Congratulations to Caitlin and Bradley and all the best in their marriage.
